Our Crowdfunding Groups
At the Cohen New Works Festival in April 2017, our team will present Bloodthirsty Fiends: a terrifying retelling of the classic tale of Beowulf...with puppets! The show features puppets of all sizes and types - shadow puppets, marionettes, and wearable, larger-than life puppets that share the stage with live actors.
Puppet designer Alison Reid is bringing the characters to life, playwright Liam Dolan-Henderson is writing a completely new take on the classic tale, and bowed and fretted string quartet invoke is composing an original score to be performed live during the production.
We are the production team for Bloodthirsty Fiends - thirteen dedicated individuals working tirelessly to make this project a reality! We are building this thing from the ground up: fabricating the puppets, scenery, and costumes, creating a new script and musical score, planning lighting/sound, and running the rehearsals and performances.
We are bringing the utmost passion and dedication to this project...but we need your support! This project requires materials for puppet fabrication, costuming, set design, and rental equipment for the show, as well as countless hours cutting, re-cutting, measuring, thrift shopping, writing, and creating.
