2021 Class Gift Library

WHAT IS THE CLASS GIFT?

The Class of 2021's gift to the university is our way of leaving our mark and legacy on the Forty Acres. The class gift designations are chosen by a student-led committee of graduating seniors who are dedicated to leaving the university an even better place than they found it. This is our last opportunity to come together as a class!

This year, the University of Texas at Austin Student Foundation has chosen to support the Library Tomorrow Fund for the 2021 Senior Class Gift fundraiser. Donors can also chose to support other designations.

WHY GIVE BACK?

  • Leave a legacy for future Longhorns to receive the same world-class education and be part of the class gift tradition.
  • Receive a commemorative Class of 2021 Tower Pin to celebrate being part of a UT tradition.
  • Invest in the value of your UT Degree and help shape the university that you want future students to experience.

Your gifts will be matched by The Office of President Hartzell, up to $50,000! When your gift is matched, the impact is doubled.

WHERE IS THE MONEY GOING

You choose the area you wish to support. You can choose from four funds that help the entire campus population, or from something else you are passionate about.

  1. Library Tomorrow Fund
    •  Reimagine the future of UT Libraries. The Libraries of tomorrow will be revitalized to include collaborative spaces with a larger digital infrastructure. Library spaces reflect the needs of students, faculty, and researchers. Building digital capacity will connect them with an unimaginable amount of research material. The Library Tomorrow Fund helps our libraries continue to be innovative, adapt to the ever-changing landscape of higher education and support the needs of our student body.
  2. Give to your passion at UT!
    • Choose "Other" and write in the area of campus you want your gift to support.

BECOMING PART OF THE TRADITION

Every Senior who gives $20.21 or more will receive a commemorative Class of 2021 Tower Pin. The pin represents that you gave back to an initiative you care about and partook in leaving a legacy with your fellow Longhorns!

WHY I CHOSE TO GIVE

Firstly, the senior class gift is important to me because I've made so many amazing memories here at UT, I want to make sure that all the students that come after me can do the same! And the most important thing I can do to make that a reality is to give back to UT today. Funny enough, if I were to give advice to an incoming student, it would be use the UT library resources. It took me about a year to realize what an incredible opportunity it is to have access to university resources, and from that point on I didn't waste any more time. I also think it's vital to give to the Library Tomorrow Fund because I can easily say that I've spent the majority of my time on campus in UT's libraries. And libraries aren't just for studying; staying up all night to finish a group project often leads to new friendships too. - Amanda Wilson, Student Foundation

As a transfer student, I’ve always wanted to get as much as I could out of the Longhorn experience before completing undergrad. Although the pandemic has changed what this looks like within the past year, there are still generations of students we can help deliver this experience to by donating. I’m so grateful to have had UT’s resources at my disposal, giving me the chance to do things my elderly relatives always dreamed of doing. I hope to pass this value down to all the dreamers that will soon walk UT’s campus, the future Longhorns that will bring us a new tomorrow. I’m donating to the Library Tomorrow Fund in hopes that all students will have access to the best spaces and technology, allowing them to turn their dreams into a reality. - Sam Muñoz, Student Foundation

This year, i decided to support the Senior Class Gift and the Library Tomorrow Fund due to the amazing resources and research tools that they are able to offer students. Because of this designation, we are able to see libraries on campus with up-to-date software and advanced programs, news and research articles made available from paid sources, among other e-learning programs. Right now, we're experiencing challenges that affect the way we learn, work, or communicate, and it's important now more than before to help e-learning and online education thrive. - Jonathan Cope, President of the Student Foundation

I chose to give to the 2021 Senior Class gift because I want to start a legacy of giving back to the campus that has given me so much. I use library resources frequently and would love to see improvements that I have contributed to. I believe that my gift will make a positive impact on the UT campus and instill a culture of giving in me and in my peers. - Rhiannon Pytlak, Former President, Student Foundation

UT has had an amazing impact on my life for the past four years, and I want to help it continue to give other people amazing college experiences! The Perry-Castañeda Library was where I spent many days and nights binge-studying, and The Library Tomorrow Fund is a huge part of what made that possible. I’m giving so Longhorns will keep changing the world with every new class, and I know tons of other people will be doing the same!. - Jack Higgins, 2021 Class Gift Stewardship Chair, Student Foundation
