The Texas International Law Journal (“TILJ”) is excited to announce the launch of its Spring Symposium Series – a collection of luncheons convening members of the legal community to explore developing areas of international law. Since its inception, TILJ has hosted cutting-edge symposia. With the advent of the Spring Symposium Series, TILJ will expand its legacy by incorporating luncheons to supplement its existing symposia events.
TILJ members continue to work year-round to identify interesting topics, recruit speakers, arrange logistics, gather publicity, raise the funding necessary to sustain the program, and now, organize luncheons. In years past, TILJ’s symposia have featured a variety of topics and speakers. This impressive list will continue to grow with the creation of the Spring Symposium Series, particularly in light of the increasing relevance of global legal issues.
The Series will feature one luncheon per semester, each focused on a developing area of international law. Leading scholars from across the world will be flown in to present insights related to the featured topic. Dr. Carl Baudenbacher is slated to speak at the first luncheon in the Series in early 2017. He will be discussing "Potential Integration Models After Brexit." As a general matter, as evinced by our first luncheon in the Series, the TILJ Symposium Lunches will provoke critical thought and encourage scholars to predict future trends in international law.
Currently, TILJ members are working tirelessly to organize symposia for the present academic term. There is no shortage of creativity or dedication amongst TILJ members, so the success of the Spring Symposium Series will be constrained only by our limited funding. For that reason, we are extremely grateful for our support base. We hope to grow the Series with respect to both scale and topical areas, and are calling for your help to make it all possible. We hope that you will join in our efforts to continue growing and providing more opportunities for students at the University of Texas to gain familiarity with significant topics in the realm of international law. Incidentally, we would like to let you know that any funding we receive that goes beyond the needs of our Spring Symposium budget will be donated to TILJ. Thank you in advance for your consideration.

By donating a minimum of $100, you will receive digital copies of photographs from the first Spring Symposium Series luncheon*, in addition to having your name published as a donor in the official program of all Spring Symposium Series events. Any surplus funding will be donated to TILJ. *Subject to the permission of Series speakers.
By donating a minimum of $200, you will receive digital copies of photographs from our Spring Symposium Series luncheons*. Additionally, your name will be published as a donor on our website, as well as in the official programs of all Spring Symposium Series events.
