The Project is UT Austin's largest day of student service. This university-wide event helps thousands of students, faculty, and staff each year connect with different neighborhoods in Austin. It is organized and run by the Community Engagement Collective (CEC) and annually marks the culmination of a year-long partnership between the CEC and community leaders within Austin.
The Project is responsible for having students come together to uplift local neighborhoods in Austin through community engagement, volunteer work, and meeting the needs of the community. Many of these volunteer tasks include beautification projects, building picnic tables and benches, painting, constructing libraries within schools, organizing a community fair for children and families, cleaning up trash, installing fire alarms in homes, organizing donation pantries, and much more. With the help of donations, we are able to aim for and create a larger impact within the communities we serve and strive to create a better future.
