About this project
The University of Texas at Austin Trombone Choir has been invited to travel to Valencia, Spain to perform at the 2015 International Trombone Festival (ITF) in early July. This is an amazing opportunity for our students to perform and immerse themselves in a foreign culture, while attending the ITF for a week of concerts, lectures, and exhibits. Each year, the ITF provides a setting for musicians to meet, share scholarship and performance artistry, hear new compositions, try out the latest instrument designs, sample new equipment, and enjoy camaraderie unique to our association. Over the years, these types of experiences have proven to be very important to the future successes of UT trombone students. Please help us to fund this trip!
Why Us?
Members of the UT Trombone Studio have produced a strong tradition of excellence by consistently winning prizes in international, national, and local competitions; and, upon graduation, securing important posts in performing organizations and educational institutions.
Since 2000, the UT Trombone Choir has performed for over 100,000 audience members, including visiting dignitaries, several Texas Governors, and a US President.
Why You?
Due to decreased funding to education, nationwide, student travel budget funds have been cut drastically or, in our case, eliminated. Your donations will be used to pay for travel-related trombone choir expenses (airline tickets, local transportation while in Spain, hotel costs, meals, etc.). Even donations at the $10 level will help us immensely in achieving our goal of representing the UT at this prestigious event, and in sharing our music with the world.
Why Now?
Counting student contributions, we have raised nearly half of the money needed to fund our travel to the 2015 ITF and we need your help to secure the rest of the funds. Deadlines for securing airline tickets and housing are rapidly approaching. Please help to make our dream a reality, donate!
Perks that will set you on fire!
Because your donations mean so much to us, you will be invited to a pre-travel, farewell concert. But that's not all, we are also sending digitals recordings, postcards, giving lessons and, of course, you will be listed on our website as a supporter.
You will also receive early access to our Pyro-Trombone Bolivar video, and we can promise you that Photoshop or After Effect was not used. Donors at the "Encore Level" and higher will receive private Pyro-Trombone demonstrations.
Pledges to the UT Trombone Choir are Tax-deductible
UT is a 501(c)(3) organization, which means that your donation is tax-deductible. For more information, please consult with your tax advisor or visit the IRS webpage about charitable organizations.
