Texas Crew Rowing

Who We Are:

Texas Crew is a co-ed rowing club at the University of Texas. Our vision is to achieve success at the highest level in an environment that provides competition, dedication and teamwork. We practice Monday- Friday from 5:15-7:15 AM & Saturday from 6-8 AM at Lady Bird Lake. At the core, we are a group of individuals who are passionate about this incredible sport and hope to see it thrive.

Our Story:

We are a sports organization that is over 70 people wide, making us the largest club sport at the University of Texas. With so many athletes, we have 4 coaches to train us and work us past our limits.  Since our organization is fully student run, dues range from $625-$750/semester, making us one of the most expensive rowing clubs in the nation because of the significant distance we need to travel to race. In the fall of 2013, the same thunderstorm that flooded Zilker Park also unforeseeably damaged $30,000 worth of our equipment. That year insufficient funding jeopardized the existence of the women's squad and prevented the entire team from competing at the ACRA National Championships in Gainesville, Georgia.

Nevertheless, the men’s and women’s varsity teams have more than doubled in size over the past couple years and have medaled at national regattas despite these setbacks.  With our head coach leading the team in his third consecutive year, we are determined to turn our program around.

Looking Into The Future:

We look forward not only to competing at national and local regattas, but also claiming 1st place and lighting the Tower orange. As athletes we push ourselves at every practice, outside work out, and during the off-season. With your help fundraising last year, we were able to budget the purchase of a new Hudson racing four, and that is only the start for our growing team. This year our goal is to raise $12,000.  This will allow us to continue lowering dues, make rowing more accessible, as well as help purchase new racing shells that will hopefully be rowed to many wins for Texas Crew in years to come!

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and every donation will be tax-deductible. Texas Crew is a non-profit student run organization. Thank you all for the support! We cannot even begin to express what your donation means to us. We would not be the team we are today without all your help!
