Who We Are
The Round About Players is a student organization committed to cultivating, enriching and supporting undergraduate students by providing resources to refine their artistic skills while producing theatre that is engaging, exhilarating and daring.
We are the production team for The Hunchback of Notre Dame. There are currently 17 members on our team, from director to designers, and we are extremely excited to be able to bring this amazing musical to the University of Texas at Austin. Aside from script and music, everything about this show will be made, choreographed, and directed by students, which is why we need your help. Your donations will help us obtain costumes, props, set pieces, royalties, rental materials, and many more costs that come with producing a musical such as Hunchback.
Producing a musical like this would be an incredible educational experience for us all and a gift to our community, but we can’t do it without your help.
The Production
The Hunchback of Notre Dame is a musical based off of the Disney movie and book by Victor Hugo. It's a riveting tale of friendship, love and determination, and explores the differences between "what makes a monster, and what makes a man".
"It all started when I listened to the original cast recording. The music began calmly, then the rest of the orchestra and choir came in. When I heard all those voices, one thought came to mind: “This needs to happen”. I didn't know when, I didn't know how, I wasn't even sure if it would happen during my time here at UT, all I knew in that moment was that it had to.
It shows humanity in such an amazing way. The characters are wonderfully complex, the music is absolutely stunning and the story captures my imagination every time I listen to it. Everything about this show is just so human.

On Opening Day, some members of this team will have been working on this show for a year! Every member of the team has dedicated and will continue to dedicate countless time and energy to make this show a success. With your help, we can bring this beautiful story to our community and fulfill this incredible educational experience.
