TSTV
Texas Student Television, or TSTV, is the nation’s only student-run, FCC-licensed television station. We have been producing and distributing the best student-made video content on campus for more than 25 years, and we’re available on Dorm Channel 15 and Antenna Channel 29.1, or online at watchtstv.com. At the beginning of the semester we hold an open general meeting where any interested potential volunteers can meet our current staff. This fundraiser is so that we can completely upgrade all of our sound equipment in our studio and master control. Our current equipment is outdated, and in some cases has even been discontinued by their manufacturers, and we are looking to change all of it out. We hope to do this not only so the quality of our content is better, but so that our student participants have the opportunity to learn and gain experience an up-to-date gear that they are going to see in the professional world. TSTV prides itself on giving all UT students hands-on experience in television, and we hope to continue that by making sure we are providing students with access to the best equipment and tools possible. In addition to that, we hope to also raise enough so that we can install a video router/hub on our remote broadcast unit. This is used for any remote productions that need to be streamed or broadcasted live. This is often used for broadcasting live sports games or for events that TSTV has been hired to broadcast, and consequently, is a huge revenue source for TSTV. Having the video hub on the unit will allow us to switch inputs and outputs with ease, rather than having to physically unplug and plug in inputs and outputs.
