Our Crowdfunding Groups
The Travesty, UT’s official humor publication, has been voted "Best Non-Chronicle Publication" by the Austin Chronicle seven times and nominated for Best Sound Mixing at the Academy Awards every year since the paper’s founding in 1997. Within the past few years, the Travesty has expanded the scope of our content through video production. We need your help in acquiring the resources and equipment we need to bolster our steadily growing video staff. With your contribution, we hope to purchase a RODE VideoMic Studio Boom Kit, as well as a Linear PCM Recorder.
In addition to supporting our video staff, we also hope to raise money to provide dinner and snacks for our writing staff during our monthly deadline weekends. Once a month, the Travesty editors and writers spend the weekend churning out content and putting the newest issue together so that on Sunday it can be sent to press. Meals and snacks would be an amazing addition to what is always a very busy time for our office.
