Project Complete!

June 27, 2019

Hello Donors,

We have completed project implementation and have all arrived back in the States. It was an amazing 3 weeks of experiencing a new culture and making connections with our host NGO and community. We would like to thank everyone who donated and followed our journey on our blog. For the most part, our implementation went according to plan and the end result was a kitchen that both our team and the Ban Thap Ta Thaen community are extremely proud of. This kitchen will be utilized by the school cook to provide clean, safe meals to the students for years to come!

For the last time,

A week away from project implementation!

May 14, 2019

Hello Donors,

Our team has been working this whole semester on designing a kitchen for the Ban Thap Ta Thaen elementary school as well as planning community engagement activities. We just gave our last milestone presentation to our professors and advisory board and have been approved to travel!! We are leaving next week on May 22nd and will be in Thailand until June 14th. In fact, the contractors started working last week and have done an amazing job, already completing the walls, door, and windows of the kitchen. It is incredibly exciting to see our design plans coming to fruition and our team cannot wait to be at the school in-person to see it and finally meet the community.

We have shared a few pictures of the current progress on the kitchen below. This kitchen is a direct result of your generous donations and the community and our team are so grateful!

In country, our team will finish up the remaining work on the kitchen which includes installing counter-tops,tiling, as well as piping and drainage for a sink. We will be posting pictures and updates on our blog and Facebook page. Follow these to stay up-to-date with our team's progress and continue to see the result of your donations!

Thanks and to Thailand we go,

Fundraising Goal Reached and Progress Update !

January 23, 2019

Hello everyone,

WE HAVE REACHED OUR 15,000 GOAL !!! Our Hornraiser page officially closed last month at a grand total of $15,257. We are so grateful for your contributions as well as your interest in the project.  It would not have been possible without you amazing donors!

Since our month of fundraising has ended, the team has shifted its focus to the technical design aspects of the project over winter break and will continue to do so as we start this spring semester. We have already started working on the detailed floor plan drawings of our kitchen and will continue to work with our partner NGO as well as faculty at UT as we move into this next phase of the project.

Like our page on Facebook to keep up to date with our project and see the manifestation of your fundraising effort this past month. We are working our hardest to make this new kitchen as helpful for the community as possible !

Thanks again so much!!!

Fundraising Update - 50% reached!

November 16, 2018

Happy Friday everyone!

We are incredibly excited to announce that our team has surpassed the 50% benchmark of our $15,000 goal.  In addition, the team's profit share and bake sale this week were very successful and helped contribute $750 to our project. We are so grateful for everyone who has donated and/or helped promote the project. You truly are helping us build the new kitchen and make a difference at the Ban Thap Ta Thaen elementary school.

Aside from the fundraising, our team is currently starting to make preliminary floor plans for the kitchen. The team is also starting to consult with University faculty to learn about concrete mixing, piping, drainage and some of the other technical knowledge we will need as we continue to design the kitchen.

That is all for now! Please keep on sharing and promoting our project as we approach Thanksgiving.and the holidays!!

Sincerely,

PUC Thailand 1
