The growth medium that provides these nutrients for growth on our gut chip is called DMEM. 500 milliliters of DMEM costs $26. Liquid chromatography (LC) is an analytical chemistry technique used to separate solutions that we use to evaluate fecal samples. This technique, though effective, is expensive. $1200 would fund the LC analysis for all of the fecal samples.
