WHAT IS THE CLASS GIFT?

The Class of 2019's gift to the University is our way of leaving our mark and legacy on the Forty Acres. This is the last opportunity we have to come together as a class!

WHY GIVE BACK?

  • Leave a legacy for future Longhorns to receive the same world-class education
  • Receive a 2019 Class Pin (Pictured below)
  • Invest in the value of your UT Degree

WHY I CHOSE TO GIVE

"I believe that UT offers one of the best college experiences in the country because of the people and places that make up our great campus. I chose to give to the 2019 Senior Class Gift because our libraries offer resources to continue to make our school and its students even better--from the places to study to the research articles available online, it all enriches the Longhorn experience. I know this will help leave a mark on campus, and I am so excited to be part of it!" -Madeline Nassif, Steve Hicks School of Social Work 2019

"I chose to give to the 2019 Senior Class gift because I want to start a legacy of giving back to the campus that has given me so much. I use library resources frequently and would love to see improvements that I have contributed to. I believe that my gift will make a positive impact on the UT campus and instill a culture of giving in me and in my peers." -Rhiannon Pytlak, McCombs School of Business 2021

"My past four years on the 40 acres has changed my life in ways I never imagined. I chose to be involved with the Senior Class Gift Campaign because I've gotten so much from this university, and I didn't want to wait to give back. Being a Longhorn is a core part of my identity, and part of what being a Longhorn means to me is making a positive impact on my community." - Leslie Solcher, McCombs School of Business 2019

WHERE IS THE MONEY GOING?

After surveying the Class of 2019, we learned that a resource on campus that we all appreciate is the libraries. Whether it's studying, researching, writing papers, or taking a break between classes, UT Libraries have become a large part of our college memories. Because of that, we want to give back:

  1. Library Tomorrow Fund
    •  Reimagine the future of UT Libraries. The Libraries of tomorrow will be revitalized to include collaborative spaces with a larger digital infrastructure. Library spaces reflect the needs of students, faculty, and researchers. Building digital capacity will connect them with an unimaginable amount of research material.
  2. Give to your passion at UT! Choose "Other" and write in the area of campus you want your gift to support.

BECOMING PART OF THE TRADITION

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • How is the Senior Class Gift different from tuition or endowments?

    • Tuition, which currently amounts to 21% of UT’s budget, helps cover the less apparent costs of facilities, utilities, faculty and staff salaries and student services. The Senior Class Gift intends to fund programs and entities that are not adequately covered by tuition.

  • How will my donation be recognized?

    • All donors will have the option to be on the virtual Donor Wall on the HornRaiser page. Seniors that donate $20.19 (or more) will receive a Senior Class Gift pin to wear at graduation.

  • How much am I being asked to give?

    • Our recommended donation is $20.19. With that being said, our primary goal is participation. We encourage students to participate in Class Giving by donating however much they currently can in a way that is most meaningful to them.

  • Who is in charge of the Class Gift?

    • The Class of 2019 Gift is a Student Government initiative, managed by the Class Gift Agency of Student Government and Student Foundation, with the support of the President’s office and the UT Development Office.

  • I am a parent of a Class of 2019 graduate. Can I donate?

    • Absolutely! Parents donating for Class of 2019 graduates should include their Longhorn’s name in the donation note. Parents not representing Class of 2019 students can donate as well!

  • I am an underclassman at UT. Can I donate? If so, why should I donate?

    • You can absolutely donate and start your tradition of giving back to UT!

  • Is there any other way to donate?

    • Yes! You can donate through Venmo. Send your donations of $20.19 or more to @UTSTUFO. *Please make sure to include your EID, and the name of the Ambassador, if there is one.
