Día de Los Muertos Festival

Hello! We are the Campus Relations Committee of The Hispanic Business Student Association. Texas HBSA is committed to bringing out the best of its 180+ members and provide them with unparalleled professional and leadership opportunities. Through the numerous programs HBSA hosts throughout the year, including our signature events, Company Night and Scoring Careers, HBSA has helped increased the number of Hispanic/Latinx professionals entering the workforce.

Our Project

The Campus Relations Committee is in charge of increasing our collaboration and engagement with other organizations on campus. This year our goal is to host a campus-wide event that celebrates Hispanic/Latinx culture. Our vision is to hold the first-of-its-kind, Día de Los Muertos Festival on Friday, November 1st. The festival will be held at Greg Plaza, a central location on campus where students from different backgrounds can come to tour our many booths. There, they will be able to appreciate different aspects of Hispanic/Latinx culture, experience some of our beautiful customs, and get a taste of what being a part of our familia really means.

Our Partners

One of our favorite aspects of being Hispanic/Latinx is the importance placed on our family and community. Because of this, we reached out to other organizations on campus to partner with us on this event and as of now, we have 15+ who want to participate! Each organization will manage a booth, either independently or in collaboration with another group. Everyone is really excited to get this festival up and running and we need your help to do it!

How Can You Help?

We are expecting to celebrate our culture with over 2000 people from all different walks of life. We have committed to raising $8,000 to make our goal possible! All donations will go directly to the financing of food, decorations, and artistic performances that we need for the Día de Los Muertos Festival. In addition, all donations are tax-deductible. Thank you for your help!
