Known Mengele Twin Survivors

Eva Mozes Kor and Miriam Mozes Zeiger located 122 individual surviving Mengele Twins, and CANDLES Holocaust Museum and Education Center continues to locate more. Supporters at this level will: 1) gain access to audio and video recordings of Eva and the Angel of Death after its premiere, as well as 2) be acknowledged in the Acknowledgements page of the opera's score and 3) in the printed program for the opera's two premiere performances.

Thousands of Jews Deported

In 1944, over 600 thousand Jews were deported to Auschwitz as part of the Final Solution. Eva arrived between May 31 and June 6 1944 as one of these 600 thousand. This level funds 1 of the 21 orchestra musicians for the opera's rehearsals, performances, and recording session. Supporters at this level will: 1) be invited to an exclusive meet-and-greet with the opera's composer, project team members, and vocal cast members, 2) gain access to audio and video recordings of Eva and the Angel of Death after its premiere, as well as 3) be acknowledged in the Acknowledgements page of the opera's score and 4) in the printed program for the opera's two premiere performances.

Celebrating the life (חי‎ or Chai, strongly connected to the number 18 in Gematria or Jewish numerology) that Eva Mozes Kor was able to live after escaping Auschwitz. This level funds four orchestral musicians for the opera's rehearsals and performances. Estimated Mengele Twins

At Auschwitz, Dr. Josef Mengele conducted gruesome and sadistic medical experiments on over 1,500 sets of twins. This level funds the entire vocal cast (5 vocalists) for the opera. Between 1940 and 1945, at least 1.3 million prisoners (both Jews and non-Jews) were deported to Auschwitz. This level funds all the performers for the opera: the entire vocal cast (5), orchestra (21), rehearsal pianist, and conductor.
