Support the Texas Undergraduate Moot Court Team

Who We Are

The Texas Undergraduate Moot Court Team is a competitive organization that aims to provide members of the University of Texas community with exposure to constitutional issues. Undergraduate students learn about important statutory problems and build public speaking skills. As moot court is frequently a part of law school curriculum, it provides an unparalleled advantage to undergraduate participants.  Our goal is to be contenders in American Moot Court Association (AMCA) tournaments and to create a tight-knit community of pre-law students who are interested in the constitution.

What We Do

We compete in undergraduate moot court competitions all around Texas. Every academic year, we are provided with a national case problem. Each student must prepare arguments for both sides in SCOTUS format. During the 2019 season, we had ten teams compete at four different competitions. Of these teams,  five students won top speaker awards, and two teams moved on to the elimination rounds.

Why We Need Your Help

One of our main goals was to ensure that any student, regardless of financial need, is able to participate in moot court. We need your help to ensure that is possible! We are raising $12,000 to help cover the competition fees and travel costs for the eight competitions we are hoping to attend during the 2020-2021 season.
