This year, National Nurses Week is both a celebration of our achievements and a call to action. While the world is focused on the crucial role that nurses play in protecting the health of their patients, the UT Austin School of Nursing is focused on securing the needs of our frontline clinicians who directly serve our local community, and our students who will one day be a part of that workforce.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we have continued to safeguard the health of our most vulnerable populations through our Family and Children’s Wellness Clinics, located in Austin and Del Valle (Southeast Travis County). However, our students have also been affected by this crisis and many are experiencing financial hardship, as a result of COVID-19.
In celebration of National Nurses Week, we ask that you reflect on how nurses have impacted your life and encourage you to make a gift in honor of a special caregiver. Your generosity will further enable us to support our undergraduate and graduate students with emergency scholarships and our Clinics’ nurses and staff that are in constant need of supplies to stay strong in the COVID-19 fight.
Your gift – no matter the size – will honor the Longhorn nurses of today and support the Longhorn nurses of tomorrow. Together, we will keep our communities safe and healthy for generations to come.
