Hot Science: Inspiring the Next Generation of Scientific Leaders!

We are bringing to life a compelling new TV series that makes science fun and relevant for everyone! Hot Science tells heroic stories through the point of view of diverse researchers. It also vibrantly illustrates scientific principles while capturing the sheer wonder of both nature and technology. Our goal is to combat global crises and build a strong 21st-century workforce by inspiring a generation of young people to pursue science.

Season One of the show features 10.5 hours of content, distributed on national PBS stations, YouTube, Hot Science's website and numerous social media channels. 

Hot Science originates from Hot Science - Cool Talks (HSCT), an event series that takes place six times a year at the University of Texas. Running since 1999, HSCT draws hundreds of participants for a lecture plus interactive activities that highlight Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). The TV show, Hot Science, captures this long-running program's enthusiasm for STEM and will deliver it to a wider audience.    

Hot Science is a collaboration between UT’s Environmental Science Institute and the Moody College of Communication.
