“The historians say if it’s more recent than 50 years it’s not really history, but if you don’t save it now, 50 years from now there won’t be the history." – Juan González, co-host of “Democracy Now!”
This is what the Voces Oral History Center does best – giving voice to the Latino experience.
Voces needs your help now to help us document and share the impact on the COVID-19 health crisis and its impact on Latinos. With a little more than one week to go of our Voces of a Pandemic campaign to reach our $20,000 goal, we need you to be a part of the history with a gift today.
Thank you for supporting the Voces Oral History Center.
Voces Oral History Center is asking for your support for Voces of a Pandemic - a series of personal interviews on the COVID-19 health crisis and how it is impacting Latina/os. This is what Voces does best and with your support we can document the stories of the Latino/a community affected by the coronavirus.
As of September 14, 2020, the Texas Health and Human Services reports almost 40% of confirmed Coronavirus cases are Hispanic. Deaths are 55.9% Hispanic. What are the reasons behind this disparity? Every dollar your give helps us give voice to the Latino experience.
Your donation today helps Voces:
Process the interviews with accurate transcripts and indexes
Gather data and share the impact of this pandemic on Latina/os in the United States
Post the interviews on our website to share these important stories for researchers, journalists, and YOU
