3 Days Left to Reach $40,000

November 30, 2020

Dear fellow TXCS alumni & friends -

I hope you are doing well during this extraordinary time.

I am so excited to tell you that the TXCS community has been very generous---so far, we have brought in over $30,000 for the Texas Computer Science Endowment for Change. We surpassed our $25,000 goal, and we are exceedingly grateful for your decision to lend your support to our students and to this campaign.

We are working to increase the number of students from underrepresented backgrounds who receive departmental support as they work towards their academic goals. This fund will help recruit and support those students, and we are so grateful for your excitement and interest! We have 3 days left to reach our goal of $40,000. If you haven’t had a chance to donate yet, we hope you’ll consider helping us grow this scholarship fund so that, together, we can better recruit and support our students from underrepresented backgrounds.

The education I received at TXCS has shaped my life and career, and I suspect that you feel the same.  I hope you'll help us provide those same opportunities (and support pursuing them!) to students from underrepresented backgrounds. In doing so, you not only aid our students, but you change the face of the computer science field and create a diverse, thriving community for all exceptional students.

Thank you so much!  And I hope to see you in the halls of GDC someday :)

Alison
