Giving Tuesday is a world-wide philanthropic event that encourages people to give back. Any donation to Senate supports UT students and is 100% tax-deductible. It would be a huge help if you count our cause as one of your end of year donations!
Looking to the Future
This semester we successfully awarded two Non -Traditional Student Scholarships and we are looking forward to open our Academic Improvement, Undergraduate Research and Study Abroad Scholarships next semester. We are so excited that Hornraiser is helping us to create a more sustainable source of funding for these opportunities. The Academic Improvement Scholarship aims to reward students who've improved their GPA from below a 3.5 by at least .5 points using campus resources. It's a really important step towards removing financial barriers to retention in university, and we are still in need of support to continue to allow/expand these opportunities to deserving students. The Study Abroad Scholarship allows more flexibility in student study abroad plans, granting them the opportunity to broaden their perspectives and the Academic Improvement awards student who despite initial struggles have significantly improved in their academics.
