MEET THE LEADERS

Jane C. Edmond, M.D., is the inaugural chair of the Department of Ophthalmology and director of the Mitchel and Shannon Wong Eye Institute — and a proud UT Austin alumna. She is a national expert and educator specializing in pediatric ophthalmology and pediatric neuro-ophthalmology.

Eileen C. Bowden, M.D., specializes in glaucoma conditions and care. A UT Austin graduate, she is thrilled to return to the Austin and Longhorn community.

Eric L. Crowell, M.D., MPH, specializes in ocular immunology and uveitis diagnosis and treatment. He is also a UT Austin alumnus and excited to provide care alongside a team of fellow Texas Exes.

MEET OUR FOUNDERS

The Wong Family - Mitchel Wong, M.D., Rose Wong, Shannon Wong, M.D., Betty Wong and their families made a transformational gift in 2016 to establish the Mitchel and Shannon Wong Eye Institute, a center to train future ophthalmologists and provide patients with the best medical and surgical eye care possible. The Institute’s clinic opens in November.
