LPL Takes on Collegiate Nationals 2022

Who Are We?

Longhorn Powerlifting was established in the 1980s and has maintained its presence at the University of Texas at Austin to this day. A competitive sports club under the division of Recreational Sports, Longhorn Powerlifting (LPL) competes at local, regional, and national level competitions through the USA Powerlifting federation (USAPL) against other colleges. Our team works to foster the growth of our team members while also providing a family and community environment.

What Are Our Plans?

Our team’s annual competitions are the Collegiate Cup in San Antonio in the fall semester, and Collegiate Nationals hosted in various locations. Collegiate Nationals 2022 will be located just outside Chicago, IL. Through Collegiate Nationals, we would be able to compete against all colleges within the nation and show off our UT pride! Many of our members have not been able to compete and represent UT for the past two years but now it is our time to shine! Our goal this year is to raise money towards travel, hotel, and competition fees in order to represent the University of Texas at Austin at Collegiate Nationals.

How Can You Help?

With no recognition by the NCAA, university powerlifting clubs such as Longhorn Powerlifting must depend upon our own efforts to fund the year. These gifts will directly help us with Collegiate Nationals expenses, restocking medical supplies, and equipment as we adjust back to in-person practices. All donations are tax-deductible and any amount is welcome! Thank you for your help!
