Thank you for supporting our Jackson Scholars!
Help a Jackson Scholar become a leader in the Earth Sciences and an active member of their professional community. Leadership positions include elected positions in student organizations or clubs (not restricted to organizations in the geosciences), participation in city, county, or state legislative affairs, or elected or promotion-based leadership in a volunteer organization. Scholars also participate in a leadership training workshop or short course.
Help scholars fulfill their service requirements such as volunteering for GeoFORCE, becoming a Geoscience Ambassador, or another geoscience outreach group. Community service can be unrelated to geoscience and UT, including volunteer EMS, community hotlines, or volunteering in schools or hospitals.
Support research opportunities for Jackson Scholars students. Research projects are carried out over a minimum of two long semesters, approximately 30 total weeks or 210 days.
Help cover the cost of an average study abroad application fee, passport fee, and medical fees and insurance for one Jackson Scholar's trip.
Be a champion for geosciences students and the Jackson Scholars Program!
