Studying Mexican Arts And The Youth For Emotional Healing
Who am I?
I am a second year Dance and Psychology double major here at UT Austin. I hope to combine my passion for the arts and the mental health profession into a career path that leads me to becoming a dance movement therapist. I hope to someday share with my patients how music, dance, theater, and visual arts have been tools in my own emotional healing. I have been training in dance for 12 years with a focus in ballet and contemporary.
My Project
I hope to travel to Mexico City this May for a 4 week course in Mexican Arts and the Youth. While in Mexico City I will observe artistic classes offered to children, and visit spaces where children learn about and through the arts! Additionally, I will get the opportunity to visit the Frida Kahlo Museum and the pyramids of Teotihuacan!
How can you help?
I have committed to raising $4,100 to make my goal possible! All donations will go directly to the financing of airfare, food, and the program fee for a Maymester in Mexico City. Thank you for visiting my page, and every donation of any size is greatly appreciated!
