Support for Student Parents

The mission of Student Parent Organization is to create community, provide access to resources, and advocate for parenting students at UT.

Student Parent Organization is seeking donations for four (4), $500 student parent scholarships. We hope to give these scholarships to parents in need during the Spring 2022 semester. Student parents face challenges unique to the parenting experience; childcare needs, increased cost of living, and difficulty balancing on/off campus lives. Student Parent Organization aims to ease the burden of student parenthood by providing not only community support, but financial support as well. As a growing organization, we plan to use the remaining $500 to fund organizational needs such as marketing materials and community events. Help us build a legacy of support across the 40 Acres.

Supporting student parents means supporting

Little Longhorns.

Student parents have one thing in common: the desire to create a fulfilling, nurturing, and enjoyable life for our children. Little Longhorns, our kiddos, are the foundation of everything we do. While being a student parent is challenging, it is also immensely rewarding. There is no feeling like knowing all of the hard work will be worth it when our children are secure and happy. When they see us accomplish the impossible. When they learn from us that it is never too late to chase your dreams. Help us be the best parents and students we can be by donating.

One scholarship could make all the difference.

Life is even more unpredictable when you're a parent. Last year, a Student Parent Organization member relied upon loans to pay for textbooks when her daughter needed expensive medical tests. While student parents are grateful for resources that make it possible for us to be both caregivers and learners, we need more supportA Student Parent Scholarship could be the difference between student loan debt and financial stability, between a good night's sleep and a restless night of worry. Will you help us change the lives of student parents at UT?
