Thank you so much to all the donors and ambassadors for supporting our organization! It means a lot to us!
We are requesting funds to go toward our 5th annual Graduate Student Retreat. This is a professional event aimed to foster community between graduate students and faculty within the BME department. The event will include graduate student research talks, poster sessions, and social events for people to meet each other. BME faculty members and our entire graduate student body will attend this event.
One of the top skills graduate students should learn during the course of their studies is how to effectively communicate their research and passions to a broader audience. The BME Graduate Student Retreat hosts graduate student research talks and poster sessions which allows each student to see how others effectively communicate their work and to practice their own communication skills.
The catered event will combine a traditional conference style with a more casual department-wide event that not only provides students an opportunity to share their work, but also serves as a chance for students, faculty, and staff to come together in a low-pressure environment.
We hope to start off the new academic year on the right foot by bringing everyone together. We hope to continue hosting this successful, annual event to foster a collaborative and welcoming environment for the BME community.
