KVRX has grown in many ways over the years, and throughout it all, we have always maintained our identity as like-minded students who believe in the power of radio, music, and, above all else, community.
KVRX has been around for... a while. Before we changed our call letter in 1994, we were known as KTSB. And even before that, the Student Radio Task Force valiantly advocated for years for a completely student-run radio station on the University of Texas campus. Today, we still strive to honor the legacy of our founders and upheld the KVRX tenets that have been honed through the years. We could not be prouder to serve as one of the country's only fully student-run college stations!
As a student organization, we are constantly needing as much support from our generous listeners, alumni, families, and friends as possible. This year, we are raising funds to not only keep our productions afloat but to improve them beyond anything that's come before! KVRX has made a significant name for ourselves in the Austin music scene, and we know that now is the time for us to prove to all what we're capable of!
Specifically, we are raising funds for our hard-working Production Department. We need new microphones, stands, monitors, and especially new cameras. You may have noticed a quicker turn-around time for our Local Live productions, and we can confidently say that it has been a result of the generous donations of the past! And now, we are excited by the possibilities of where even further improved gear may take us.
We need your support to continue our mission of serving the Austin music community, the University of Texas, and especially our own students!
Hey! You've found a practice space in your parents' garage with a couple friends and guys trust me this new song is actually really good.
Okay, now you're pretty well known around Austin. Hopefully you can score a spot on Local Live!
Silly time is over. Now you're booking your own gigs and opening for touring bands.
You're buying a synthesizer and an arpeggiator and are throwing your computer out the window because you want to make something real.
I hear that you and your band have sold your guitars and bought turntables.
