Our team at the Mitchel and Shannon Wong Eye Institute is united by a passion to give residents and medical students a transformative educational experience that shapes how they practice through a profound understanding of the principles of value-based, integrated healthcare delivery for the management of ophthalmic disease.
Students from medical schools across the country can spend a month with our physicians at the Mitchel and Shannon Wong Eye Institute to strengthen their skills, prepare them for a career in Ophthalmology, and to interest them in our Ophthalmology residency program. Unfortunately, a month in Austin is not cheap! We would love to contribute to these students' travel costs (airfare, rental car, housing) to make this equitable and fair to ALL. We hope to provide at least 13 students up to $750 towards their travel expenses.

In order to attract the best medical students to our residency program, we want to lay a solid foundation to remove financial barriers and encourage medical students from diverse backgrounds and communities to participate in the program.
