Who We Are
CHLLSA is a student organization dedicated to supporting Chicano, Hispanic, and Latino law students at the University of Texas School of Law. We pair up 1Ls with 2L and 3L mentors, bring in industry pros to talk about their experiences in varying fields of law, and we host a multitude of events to bring together and strengthen the CHLLSA community.
What We're Fundraising For
Many, if not most, of our members are first generation law students who have little knowledge of what to expect when it comes to entering the legal profession, and law school is an expensive endeavor. To ensure our members' successes, we award over $10,000 in scholarships each year for law school necessities like professional clothes and bar prep classes. However, we need help raising these funds for future generations of CHLLSA students.
How You Can Help
We're hoping to raise $10,340 by the end of this campaign, but even as little as $20 can make a huge difference in our students' lives.
Help us to raise a new generation of Chicano, Hispanic, Latino (and Texas) lawyers. Hook 'em!
For the student who was just admitted and is looking to CHLLSA for guidance on what an outline is.
For the 1L that's just getting into interviews and tore her only blazer.
For the 2L that is making a name for himself in advocacy and is committing to the public interest route.
For the 3L that just learned how much Barbri costs (and that his student loans are running out at the same time).
For the first-generation student that just passed the bar and is embarking on her journey as an immigration lawyer (with student loans).
For all the Chicano, Hispanic, Latino students at UT today and for years to come.
