The C.D. Doyle Clinic is a student-run, free clinic supported by Dell Medical School that operates on Sunday from 2:00 - 5:00 PM at Esperanza Community in southeast Austin. We have an open door policy and provide services to any individual regardless of insurance, ID, or residency status. Our mission is to help all patients, regardless of their circumstances. C.D. Doyle Clinic is staffed by volunteer physicians, medical students, nurse practitioners, and pre-health undergraduate volunteers.
This year, our primary goal is to establish a partnership with HEB Pharmacy and the Pharmacy School that would allow us to improve medication access for our patients. A significant portion of our patients are unable to secure transportation to local pharmacies, and even if transportation is not a primary issue, financial and insurance barriers often prohibit them from acquiring medications essential to their care. If our project is successful, we will be able to pay for the patient’s medications, deliver it directly to them, and also provide crucial medication reconciliation and counseling services.
Donations to our endowment fund will allow us to create a sustainable stream of funds that will be used for this valuable project as well as to further promote health equity for the most vulnerable communities in Austin.
