Our Crowdfunding Groups
It’s almost Pride time, Texas Exes! As many of you know, UT Austin creates a float for Austin Pride every year, with help from the Texas Exes Pride Network and the Gender and Sexuality Center. Collaborators from all over campus will be pitching in to create a magical and inclusive float that celebrates all the colors of Pride. This year we are doing something new: asking for your help. 
Please consider supporting our students and making their UT experience special by helping us raise $2,000 for this year’s Pride float. Keep in mind that your employer may match it!

PRIDE DAY DETAILS:
FESTIVAL: Stop by and say hello to your friends at the Gender and Sexuality Center, the Pride and Equity Faculty and Staff Association, and the Texas Exes Pride Alumni Network at The Festival happening at Fiesta Gardens, 2101 Jesse E Segovia Street, Austin TX 78702 from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, info can be found at the Austin Pride website.
PARADE: UT members will gather to SET UP and prepare for the parade will be downtown at our TBD staging location around 7:30 PM. The march is scheduled to begin at 8:00 PM near 11th st. and the Texas Capitol and end at 11:00 PM. The march will be a total distance of around 12 blocks traveling down Congress and ending at Cesar Chavez. (RSVP to get more info here)

The Division of Diversity and Community Engagement, The Texas Exes Pride Alumni Network, The Pride and Equity Faculty Staff Association, UT Athletics, Dell Medical School, Housing and Dining

Because we anticipate more UT Students to participate this year, and the cost of participating in Austin Pride is the highest it has ever been, we wanted to reach out to our campus partners for some additional support this year.
Here are some ways you (or your department) can help:
Helping us pay any portion of the $5,000 entry fee for the parade & festival
Helping us decorate the trailer with UT and rainbow decorations (offsetting the costs of decorations and/or physically helping us decorate the trailer and cleaning up the trailer after the parade)
Renting (or securing) a truck with a hitch to pull a trailer
Renting (or securing) a trailer to decorate
Donate giveaways for us to give out at Pride, this could be stickers, beads, buttons, etc.
Helping us pay for matching shirts for the student participants
Sponsor a student to attend the festival & help the UT group table
Email your department/organization to see if anyone wants to volunteer
Volunteer to attend the festival and help with the UT table
Spread the word that UT Austin will be at the festival and in the parade!
Try to balance out any hateful messages about UT participating in Austin Pride on Social Media (we usually get several negative comments on UT/Athletics posts about Pride Parade participation)
Attend and invite your friends!
This donation amount will help us level up our float decorations
This level will help us to share the message of Pride with our students -- and hopefully help those students feel that they are not alone in their Longhorn journey.
This level will help the Pride planning committee think to next year!
This is our highest donation level. These gifts will enable the planning committee to truly set goals and expectations for Pride every year.
