Help Establish the DCC Library!

As a new center on campus, the Disability Cultural Center serves as a hub for disability community, education, and advocacy at UT for students, faculty, staff, and alumni. The DCC supports and promotes recognition of disability as an identity and culture and a valuable part of our campus community. The DCC will provide social and educational programming in conjunction with our campus partners. Created through the advocacy of disabled students, faculty, and staff, the DCC has a commitment to advocating for disability accessibility and belonging at UT.

The DCC has many hopes and dreams that will require funding in order to become a reality. One area that will require funding is creating a DCC library. Filled with materials from disabled authors and content creators and as well as academics studying critical disability studies and other disability-related topics, the DCC library will elevate voices and experiences that are often overlooked and provide the UT Community access to these materials that otherwise may not be readily available. Purchasing materials, display/storage and technology to establish and sustain the DCC library is a fundraising goal for 2023. Hosting events with disabled authors and content creators to highlight and celebrate their work will be another way to increase the engagement with the DCC library.

Whether you can donate $15 to buy one book or $1500 to fully fund the establishment of the DCC library, or any amount in between, we are excited to invite you to be part of the DCC Library Project!
