McKetta Picnic, AIChE UT Austin

Who We Are: We are AIChE, The American Institute of Chemical Engineers. We seek to offer professional development and community to all chemical engineering students at UT Austin. 

What We Are Fundraising For: McKetta Picnic is a beloved tradition that began by Dr. McKetta himself in 1946.  Dr. McKetta would invite students to his house where he would host an afternoon of food, games, and conversation. Over the years, the picnic grew as the program grew, and it soon became something incredibly special. Unfortunately, with Dr. McKetta's passing, this tradition has disappeared. AIChE is determined to bring this tradition back in honor of Dr. McKetta's contributions to the school. AIChE sees the picnic as a place where all UT chemical engineers can come together and experience community. AIChE is raising funds to support this vision and host an event open to all students, alumni, staff, and faculty. 

Why We Need You: We are asking donors to help us raise at least $2000 to help make this event happen. We anticipate McKetta Picnic to be the largest event of the year, and funds are needed to buy food, games, and outdoor seating for all attendees. Donors would not only be invited to the picnic, but recognized and listed as sponsors of this very special occasion. AIChE cannot make this happen without donors, and we hope that by giving to the Picnic donors will see how important this event is and how impactful it can be.
