Nasa Student Launch Challenge

Who we are:

This year, TX Thrust has elected to represent the University of Texas at Austin in the NASA Student Launch Challenge, one of the Artemis Student Challenges coordinated by NASA. The University of Texas offers the Student Launch Challenge as a Capstone Project, which is a collaborative project including significant technical challenges with real-time deadlines that will propel students to grow in technical experience in the aerospace industry. The NASA Student Launch Challenge is a nine-month-long competition in which teams of students design, build, test, and launch a high-powered rocket carrying a scientific or engineering payload. The competition consists of different launches, with the final launch being held in Huntsville, Alabama.

Our Mission:

Our team's ambition is to launch a rocket a mile in the sky. We must also fulfill NASA's fundamental requirements for a successful launch; this goal challenges our team to simulate a manned mission through the utilization of a model rocket. Therefore, the payload is a representation of STEMnauts, and the flight should display the survival of the STEMnauts. More precisely, their payload objectives include launching four representations of astronauts, deploying the payload and having a reasonable landing velocity without the use of a parachute or streamer, and accomplishing a safe payload recovery, all while ensuring the well-being of the four STEMnauts through survivability metrics. Through the success of this mission, we can further progress the design of reusable rockets in the aerospace industry.

Your Impact:

Your generous donations directly fund the components of our rocket as well as the travel expenses to take our rocket to Huntsville! Each donation that you give will allow us to pursue our passion for rocketry in order to revolutionize reusable rockets. Thank you for your consideration. With your help, we’ll be one step closer to a successful launch!
