Support Internship Opportunities at the Briscoe Center for American History
Briscoe Center Internships Prepare Students for Career Success
Internships at the Briscoe Center for American History are designed to provide students and recent graduates from a variety of disciplines with guided professional experience in preparation for launching professional careers. Interns are active participants in the work of the Briscoe Center. As part of one of the nation’s leading institutions of higher education, the Briscoe Center’s staff is committed to creating rich learning experiences for future generations of archivists, curators, historians, and museum administrators.
Your contribution will help provide wages for interns to work alongside professional staff on projects from across the Briscoe Center including archival enterprises, digitization and metadata, information management, museum studies, archive administration, historical research, and more. Intern projects advance the Briscoe Center’s mission and the educational goals of the students.
You can make a significant difference in a student’s future and the cause of history with a gift to support experiential learning through an internship at the Briscoe Center. Your gift today will help fund opportunities for interns working in a variety of areas across the Briscoe Center.
Every gift is important. While $5,000 supports one student for one semester, and $100,000 establishes a named endowment to fund that student position in perpetuity, each gift combined with other gifts can help provide student support.
The Briscoe Center does great work, but more can be done.
You can help.
"My internship at the Briscoe Center provided me with invaluable hand-on experience that helped me shape my academic path and enabled me to gain valuable practical experience that opened doors and made me a stronger and more competitive candidate for both full-time graduate summer programs as well as for professional jobs after graduation."
-- Stephanie Malmros, Director of Research and Collections
Please contribute a gift now, at a level that is meaningful to you, toward the $50,000 the Briscoe Center needs to support hands-on learning for ten interns this year.
Together, we can preserve history by training the next generation of archivists, curators, and historians and help set students on the path toward successful careers.
