THANK YOU to everyone who helped us exceed our goal for this year’s Sponsor a White Coat campaign! Your generous gifts will allow us to purchase coats for all our first-year Pharm.D. students entering the College of Pharmacy. These thoughtful sponsorships make the White Coat Ceremony even more special and let our student pharmacists know you have their backs and care about their future as they were welcomed to our beloved profession of pharmacy.

Don’t forget, if you are a Texas Pharmacy alum, you have the opportunity to include a note of congratulations and well-wishes in the pocket of a student’s white coat. Sponsorships of students will be randomly assigned.

A message from Kim Nguyen, a rising Texas Pharmacy P2 student

Dear Texas Pharmacy Alumni and Friends,

August 2023 holds a special place in my heart as the month that I officially joined the Longhorn pharmacy family. From the moment I accepted my admissions offer I knew I would gain a supportive community that would be there for me throughout my education and beyond.

Seeing my name embroidered across my white coat with the matching burnt orange name tag, I felt a sense of pride that the culmination of all my hard work had led me to one of the greatest pharmacy schools in the nation. As I walked off the stage during my White Coat Ceremony and reached into my pocket, I felt a little slip of paper. Opening it up, I found a kind message from a Texas Pharmacy alumnus. With stress already mounting about the first day of classes, I felt encouraged by the words and knew that this would not be a journey I would have to take alone—I knew that I would be wholeheartedly embraced by the close-knit family that is the UT Austin College of Pharmacy.

I am forever grateful for all the encouragement, hope and support the Texas Pharmacy community has given to me and will be forever proud to be a Longhorn.

This August, the College of Pharmacy will welcome more than 120 students who will make up the Class of 2028 at the annual White Coat Ceremony. This event marks the beginning of their professional journey to becoming premier pharmacists and health care providers. You can make this milestone even more special by sponsoring a student’s first white coat.

Becoming a sponsor is an exciting and rewarding way for Texas Pharmacy alumni and friends to make a personal connection with entering students and future fellow alums. Your generous gift of $50 or more will purchase one or more white coats for incoming students.

Alumni will also have the opportunity to include a note of congratulations and well-wishes in the pocket of a student's white coat. Sponsorships of students will be randomly assigned.

We've already surpassed 70% of our fundraising goal—that’s enough to provide white coats for 91 Texas Pharmacy students! Will you help us reach 100%?
