Who Are We?
The Engineering Student Life (ESL) office supports current undergraduate and graduate students in the Cockrell School of Engineering by providing opportunities for students to build community and develop impactful leadership skills. Our purpose is to shape tomorrow’s leaders through Student Organization Involvement and Leadership and Wellness programming.

The LeaderShape Institute is a transformative 4-day program that empowers UT Austin students to develop leadership skills and build lasting connections.

The Cockrell School of Engineering has hosted the LeaderShape Institute since 1997, with over 2,100 students UT-wide completing the program.

Your gift will support our goal to eliminate program fees for participants. Your gift will help us provide bus transportation, lodging, meals, and program materials for students.

FACT 1: As each goose flaps its wings it creates an “uplift” for the birds that follow. By flying in a “V” formation, the whole flock adds 71% greater flying range than if each bird flew alone. LESSON: People who share a common direction and sense of community can get where they are going quicker and easier because they are traveling on the thrust of one another.
