2025 Class Gift: Steve Hicks School of Social Work

WHAT IS THE CLASS GIFT?

Each year, graduating Longhorns celebrate their journey at The University of Texas at Austin by rallying together to support the people, places and pursuits they care about most through the Class Gift. Students, families and friends can support future Longhorns by giving back to one of the highlighted funds or any area on campus they are passionate about.

As an added bonus, the Office of the President will match the first $30,000 in donations! Your contribution to the Class Gift could have DOUBLE THE IMPACT!

WHAT CAN I SUPPORT?

This year, the Class of 2025 can choose to support the Social Work Practicum Support Fund, which provides financial support to current and future Social Work students during their practicum training.

As our students approach their final semester, they step into the professional world through their final practicum training — a crucial experience that bridges classroom learning with hands-on practice in the field. However, this full-time placement often means students are unable to work part-time jobs that financed their living expenses. As many practicum opportunities are either unpaid or offer only a small stipend, there is often increased financial burden during a pivotal time in their educational experience.

Your gift helps alleviate this financial burden, allowing our students to focus on their training. By supporting these future social workers, you are caring for those who will, in turn, care for their communities.

If you don’t see the area you would like to support, simply choose “Other” and write in the UT people, places, and pursuits that are meaningful to you and your family.
