What is the Challenge Pool?
We love a little competition among friends. The Challenge Pool multiplies the impact of your gift and inspires other Longhorns to give. These funds are awarded to colleges, schools, units, or student organizations for winning various challenges throughout the 40 hours.
What is 40 Hours for the Forty Acres?
THE time to give to UT! 40 Hours for the Forty Acres is a university-wide giving campaign designed to energize and inspire Longhorn Nation to make gifts of any size to the areas of campus they are passionate about. Last year in 40 hours, thousands of Longhorns gave more than $2.5 million. Want to see how we did last year? Check out 40for40.utexas.edu
When is 40 Hours for the Forty Acres?
This year, the campaign starts at 6 a.m. on April 12 and ends at 10 p.m. on April 13.
What makes me a Longhorn Leader?
You inspire your peers to give back to UT Austin. By making a gift of $2,000 or more to the Challenge Pool, you set the standard that Longhorns support what they love!
Can I name a challenge?
With a gift of $5,000 or more you have the opportunity to name one of the many challenges made possible by the Challenge Pool.

Be a Longhorn Leader and inspire others to give with a gift of $2,000.
Donate at the $5,000 level and name your own Hourly Challenge. This can be named in your honor, or in someone else's. This challenge will occur during the 40 For Forty event on April 12 and 13.
A gift of $10,000 gives you the opportunity to match the first $10,000 of gifts that come in during a specific challenge time of the campaign.
Interested in giving a gift and choosing the milestone marker? Maybe when we hit $1 million raised? Or we reach your favorite number? Maybe when we surpass last year? The options are limitless.
