Hello Energy Savers!
This past Wednesday, Longhorn Lights Out launched our Hornraiser fundraising campaign to support our future events and scope of outreach at UT and the Austin community! Thank you very much to those who have already supported our cause! We are off to a fast start and appreciate all of your support.
With our funds so far, we will be able to host 12 students at one of our events, and we need your support to help this number grow even more!
At our last event at the end of February, LLO volunteers turned off 3,161 lights, saving 3,537 kWh or the equivalent of 3.1 months of electricity usage in the average Texas home! After working hard and turning off lights around campus, our participants enjoyed free t-shirts, pizza, and learned some fun facts with energy conservation trivia. We also gave out some great prizes for our creative photo contest, which you can view below!
LLO strives to make the education and active involvement in energy conservation a fun, engaging experience. We thank you for your support so far, and hope you continue to support us in meeting our goals!
