Well, here we are, we're back again and at Texas, we lead. Thank you for all the support and the fall. We are pushing to continue the efforts in creating an accessible and inclusive experience in recreational sports on campus. Donate to see that the effort is sustained; every dollar counts. With just a couple days left and one chair secured, we have got to keep pushing, as Patrick and Dylan did in the LongHorn Run! Kind students and faculty have brought about wonderful results and we are shifting gears to overdrive. We are on our way to beginning the order for the first chair! Thank you to all who have donated and to those who plan to donate soon! This project is larger than all of us and we are thrilled that the community is taking part in such a wonderful movement towards access. With 10 days left, we are hoping to buckle down and collect more donations. What starts here changes the world. Already we have been featured on DDCE, BBA newsletters, the university Facebook and Instagram page. With other students expressing interest in racing it is more important than ever to share the fundraiser. Keep spreading the word to keep the donations coming let's get to 50% by Friday!
A full marathon is 26.2 miles! Each racing chair comes with brakes to ensure safety when moving downhill for all racers. Slow down and take a picture with us after LHR2019!
A 10K (Longhorn Run) is 6.2 miles! We got some practicing to do! Join the racing teams in the spring on Clarke Field!
Each chair has 3 wheels specialized for optimal use on the road. This chair is unique! And the wheels are wheely awesomw!
In 1977 Team Hoyt, creator of the racing chairs used was started. They have an awe-inspiring story that informed Patrick of the possibilities during his time in Boston. We want an orange one! We bleed orange!
On 4/13/19 we'll be at the starting line and you've helped us reach the finish line. Each chair is pretty expensive for the, so every dollar counts. Generous donors like you will make our students' pursuits reality.
There are 5280 feet in one mile. This amount also covers an entire chair with some change for repairs!
