Who We Are
Welcome to the home of The Project! We are the University of Texas at Austin’s largest day of service, and we are proud to help thousands of students, faculty, and staff each year connect with their community.
A 17 year tradition, our goal is to create a place for UT to volunteer together as a community, and also, more importantly, a chance to connect with an underserved neighborhood in Austin. We believe that connectedness with others and a shared spirit of service are powerful forces for good – no matter your experience or knowledge level, The Project will help to make a lasting impact in the place where you live.
What We Do
Each year, an estimate two thousand university community members participate in The Project. This year, The Project will serve the Rundberg area, focusing on rebuilding and revitalizing the community. Last year, The Project provided an estimated $300,000 economic impact to the community and we hope to meet and exceed this impact this year!
How You Can Help
The Project has set a goal to raise $15,000 for supplies like tools, paint, and lumber that will go towards home repairs and beautification projects in the Rundberg neighborhood as well as increase our volunteer capacity. Every year we turn away willing volunteers, and with $15,000, The Project will be able to not only increase the number of volunteers who can participate, but also increase the complexity of projects we can take on in order to make a bigger impact in the Austin community. Get your horns up and do all you can to support us in this event!
You'll get a special mention from the campaign on Facebook and Twitter!
You'll receive a video from a Rundberg resident or a Project 2016 volunteer with a personal thanks for your support of the event!
Supporters who give at least $300.00 in cash, goods, or services are recognized on the back of each of our 2,000 printed event t-shirts, worn by all volunteers, event staff, and community partners. Supporters at this level will also receive perks of all lower levels.
We invite you to attend The Project on Saturday, February 27th, 2016! You'll be recognized at our volunteer kick-off program, and will receive a personalized tour of 1-2 worksites and an event overview from student event coordinators. Supporters at this level will also receive perks of all lower levels.
