The 512 Hyperloop Team (formed under Hyperloop Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin) is comprised of 70 undergraduate students from The University of Texas at Austin. Students from all types of majors are pooling their knowledge and expertise to transform the concept of Hyperloop into a reality. The team aims to develop a working prototype of a Hyperloop pod (named Auroch), capable of moving at 330 mph. They plan to test and contribute to academic research in the fields of forced-flow axial compressors, high-speed air bearing devices, and associated control features. The baseline is to have the pod attitude passively stabilized through the bearings. In the following weeks, analysis will be performed to evaluate feasibility of the solution. The team intends to both build the pod and participate in Design Weekend, which will be held at Texas A&M University.
The budget for our project is $15,000. Your contribution will invaluably benefit the students who are contributing to this endeavor, providing them with the opportunity to engage in a unique developmental experience. All money will go towards the pod’s production and equipping our students with an outstanding level of experience. This project will help further our students' engineering development, making them better suited for the field they are pursuing their degree in. Starting from scratch, students will integrate leadership, creativity, and technical skills in order to design and build a prototype. The complexity of this project places students at the forefront of technology and innovation and pushes them to grow in all areas. This project will give students hands-on experience that cannot be replicated in a classroom setting. Your support will help create this immersive experience for the team. Each amount of donation is related to a perk.
