Organization Restructuring

February 22, 2016

In the aftermath of Design Weekend, 512 Hyperloop has decided to restructure the organization of the team in order to promote cohesiveness as a unit. As such, we have merged and altered many of our subsystems. The current listing is as follows:

Suspension

Frame and Structure

Electronics

Thermal Fluids

Operations

We hope with this new methodology we will be able to work together more effectively to make the pod a reality. Thank you to everyone for their support!

Classic Automotive

February 16, 2016

We would like express our gratitude to Classic Automotive for donating a turbocharger to our team. We plan to use this compressor to prove the practicality of bypassing air in a low pressure tube for the purpose of reducing syringe effect induced drag at high speed travel. Specifically, it will be used as a proof of concept and a demonstration of technology and skill.

Thank you for your contribution to our team!

Moving Forward

February 01, 2016

We did not place at Design Weekend. However, SpaceX will be allowing five to 10 teams to advance in the next few weeks after reviewing their Final Design Proposals. Furthermore, if we find sponsors who are willing to support our idea, we can progress forward. Nevertheless, we are grateful to have made it this far along with 124 teams from around the world who made it to Design Weekend out of 1,500 total applicants. We are of every member on the 512 Hyperloop Team! Their hard work and dedication is absolutely commendable.

We are NOT going to give up. We will continue to work hard to transform the concept of Hyperloop to reality. We will build a pod and show what 512 Hyperloop is capable of.

To conclude, we would like to thank all of our friends and family for their support. Thank you to Lance McNeill, Cathy Wyman, Mary Adams, Abdul Haseeb, Molly Gardner, and all other contributors to our team. Thank you to our professors and faculty at The Cockrell School of Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin. We appreciate it very much.

Ready for Design Weekend!

January 27, 2016

Having recently submitted our Final Design Package, 512 Hyperloop had a meeting to do some final preparation and go over the logistics for the upcoming Design Weekend being held at Texas A&M University, from 1/29 - 1/30. We distributed shirts and discussed our plans for presentation and what the atmosphere at the venue would be like. Everyone is very excited to both demonstrate what we have learned in our research into the Hyperloop mode of transportation but also to hear about the great solutions the other teams have come up with as well. We can't wait to talk with all the sponsors and corporations about our ideas and plans for the future. Embedded you can find the intro video we will be showing at Texas A&M; be sure to check out the other videos on our YouTube channel and to Like our Facebook page for other updates. Thank you to everyone who has supported us thus far; we appreciate everyone's contributions!
