Texas Student Television is one of the nation’s only student-run, FCC-licensed television stations. We have been producing and distributing the best student-made video content on campus for more than 25 years, available on Dorm Channel 15, Antenna Channel 29.1, and online at watchtstv.com.
We pride ourselves on our ability to give students the best opportunities to gain real-world experience with industry-standard equipment and practices. As we enter the next decade, we want to ensure our commitment to excellence by providing the best access to resources to TSTV members for the years to come.
This fundraiser is so that we can provide the day-to-day equipment we use that often gets overlooked. We hope to do this not only so the quality of our content is better, but so that our student members have the best opportunity they can get to learn and gain experience with the equipment they will see in the professional industry.
Batteries are the source of life for much of our electronic equipment. With $25, you help us power equipment like cameras, microphones, recording devices, and lights.
Audio is an essential part of TV production. Without great audio, there won’t be great footage. The $50 that you donate will help us purchase microphones for better video quality.
With all of the production going on during the semester, we need somewhere to put video and photo content! Additional storage space will help us store and preserve our content for the future of TSTV.
Shooting on location takes a lot of pre-production and the environment doesn’t always cooperate with us. Lighting kits make sure our talent look their best while filming on set.
A selection of camera lenses in our equipment closet allows our shows and production team to select the best shot for the best product. Paid productions are a significant source of revenue for the station, so better quality products allow us to further invest in our future!
TSTV is beginning its 25th year. Many people have walked through our studio, going on to be leaders in all areas of the media environment. With this, we can plan and prepare for another 25 years of broadcasting!
