During our recent construction, we lost all of our classroom gardens. But with your help, we can build them bigger and better!
We are excited to announce that Austin Public Health has awarded UT Elementary a Healthy Living Mini-Grant for $2,500 to help us rebuild the garden! This grant is a great start to our gardens!
Our goal is to raise $8,500 to cover the costs of the containers, tools, soil and even some seating and tables for the students to be able to do their class work outside.
Please continue to spread the word about our project to help us reach our goal. $2,500 is a great start but we want the best for our Little Longhorns!
A donation of $50 will support the cost of 1 cubic yard of soil for the garden
With $100, we could buy enough starter tomato plants to grow 200 tomatoes!
We have to water the plants, especially during the summer. A gift of $500 will buy the automated drip system for our plants.
We estimate that we need 200 cubic yards of soil for our entire garden. The gift of $1,000 would cover all of our soil!
It is our dream to purchase tables and chairs so the students may sit outside in our outdoor classroom. A classroom set of furniture is $2,500.
For our garden beds, we will use corrugated, galvanized steel frames. The entire set is $3,500.
Want to make our dream come true? The entire budget for our gardens is $8,500.
