Recent winter storms impacted Texans from Austin to College Station and beyond. Many students at The University of Texas at Austin are now facing unexpected challenges as they relocate to safe shelter, replace spoiled groceries and belongings destroyed by burst pipes, or struggle to pay bills after losing work hours or wages.
Longhorn Nation is Texas Tough
Your gift to the Student Emergency Fund will go directly to students who need your help, providing them with the security and stability they need to focus on their classes and finish this semester strong.
The student body presidents of UT and Texas A&M have challenged Longhorn Nation and the Aggie Network to step up for a little friendly competition — who can raise the most to support Texas students in need? Check A&M's progress here.
Your gift to the Student Emergency Fund will be put to immediate use to provide:
- Help with groceries, utilities and other critical needs.
- Support for students who have had to relocate to safe shelter.
- Funds to cover unexpected costs of high utility bills or weather-related losses.
Longhorn Nation, can we count on you to step up for UT students and beat the Aggies?
All UT funds raised will be administered and distributed through the Student Emergency Fund, managed by Student Emergency Services in the Office of the Dean of Students, to ensure equity and support for the students in greatest need. After all requests for winter storm support have been met, any remaining funds will stay with the Student Emergency Fund to support students facing other emergencies.
