Kappa Kappa Psi Endowed Scholarship

About The Alpha Tau Chapter Of Kappa Kappa Psi

The Alpha Tau Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi is a national honorary band fraternity serving the Longhorn Band and Austin community. Members of our Chapter devote countless hours during the year to ensure that the Longhorn Band is prepared at all rehearsals, football games, and other performances with necessary equipment, food, and drink. In addition, we apply our service initiative to the Austin community by regularly volunteering at food banks, charitable organizations, and local schools. Through our commitment to serve, we strive to uphold the highest standard of excellence at all Longhorn Band performances and community events.

About Our Endowed Scholarship

In the summer of 2017, the Alpha Tau Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi committed to fundraising $25,000 over the course of five years for an endowed scholarship. We aim to use this endowed scholarship, upon being fully fundraised, as a financial reward to deserving Chapter members for their selfless commitment to service. We hope that this support will allow our members to continue dedicating their time and energy to the maintenance of our Chapter’s ideals of sacrifice, leadership, and integrity. Over the past three years, we have raised a total of $17,000 dollars. Thanks to your generous support, we hope to fully fund our endowment one year early, by raising $8,000, and begin supporting our deserving members now!

Why We Need Your Help

More than just dedicated members of the Longhorn Band, Brothers of the Alpha Tau Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi are involved in academic disciplines and extracurricular activities across campus. On top of the regular costs and commitments associated with college, our demanding schedules prevent many of us from finding time to work a job or cook a full meal. Oftentimes, we must expend our own resources and time when helping set up Longhorn Band rehearsals, providing much needed food and drink for Longhorn Band members at football games, and volunteering at local Austin schools and organizations.

With your help, we can maintain all the amazing work we do while eliminating some of the financial burden we face. We hope to continue supporting the Longhorn Band and its success as one of the University’s premier spirit organizations. Your support ensures our ability to do so!

We thank you for your interest in supporting our organization! Every contribution helps ensure the continued excellence of the Longhorn Band. Hook ‘em!

FAQ

What is an endowment? Endowments are a sound investment in a better future. With an endowed gift, you provide permanent support for the University. Your gift is invested — never spent — and each year a distribution, like dividends on a mutual fund account, is made to your chosen program or area. Investment earnings above the dividend rate help the endowment value grow over time, to keep pace with inflation and maintain the endowment’s spending power.
