We have only ten days left in our fundraiser for Black Queer Studies Collection at the University of Texas Libraries. So far, we have raised over $15,000 – thank you for your generous donations!
I’d like to highlight some of the books we’ve added to the Black Queer Studies Collection recently, in case you’re looking for summer reading recommendations:
I love that each of these works is so different – they highlight the diversity of genres in the collection and showcase legendary authors like Baldwin and Jordan alongside exciting new writers. Your gift helps us acquire more books like these and make them available to the UT community.
Please help us spread the word so we can meet our $25,000 goal by July 9th, so that we can build this collection for generations to come!
Exciting news – the Love, Tito’s Foundation (of Tito’s Handmade Vodka) is generously matching all donations this week up to $5,000! Please take this opportunity to make your gift count twice, and spread the word!
We’d like to thank our friends at Love, Tito’s for their commitment to the Black Queer Studies Collection at UT, and to everyone who has supported our HornRaiser so far!
Must be of legal drinking age to enjoy Tito’s Handmade Vodka. Please drink responsibly.
On average, books in the collection circulate at least 20 times! Contribute to help us grow this high-use collection.
Scholarly books can range from $50 to well over $100! Contribute to the growing academic discipline of Black Queer Studies by donating the average cost of a work of scholarship!
The Black Queer Studies Collection includes 97 films! Streaming film is expensive – help us support Black Queer filmmakers.
The collection is strong in independent film, but keeping up with academic streaming services isn't cheap. On average, the library pays $350 per film. Help us support Black Queer filmmakers and make their work available to the UT Community!
The collection currently has 913 items! Help us add more books, ebooks, and films to the Black Queer Studies collection.
