Thank you all so much for your generous donations! With your help we have reached our initial goal of $4000, which will go entirely towards the labor, material and equipment costs of the project. But we are still accepting donations because we still need your help! There are still 5 days left in the campaign, so we want to try and raise some money for the travel costs of our technical advisor. Our team is currently working with a professional engineer who has volunteered to help us with the design and will travel with us in May to ensure that we build the ramps and drainage system properly. He is offering us his services for free, but the PUC Nicaragua Team is expected to raise the money for his travel expenses (flight, food and lodging). At this time, any money that you give will go towards paying for this expert engineer to volunteer his time with us. He will help us cultivate on-site job skills, teach us proper engineering procedures and will guarantee that our project is a success. It would be awesome if we could raise another $1500 to cover our engineer's travel expenses. So, please keep donating. We will make sure that not a dollar is wasted, and that everything you give goes toward the improvement of Cedro Galan’s community center and health clinic. Hey Everyone!
Sorry to keep you in the dark for so long. We are very greatful for your generosity and very pleased to have raised $1500 more than our initial goal! We wanted to inform you that we have been very busy with our project this semester, focusing mainly on the details of the design, budget and schedule work, as well as the logistics of our travel plan. We have been meeting regularly with our technical advisor and defining the scope with greater detail. We are confident that we will be able to build all aspects of the project with the funds you helped to raise. We have submitted our travel application for approval, with plans to be in Nicaragua from May 26th through June 22nd. Stay tuned for more updates!
